Gelateria Dolce Amore

The original Commercial Drive shop was destroyed by fire in August 2023 and is temporarily closed while the owners work to reopen it, with 2026 as the target. The brand stayed active through a North Vancouver location and a new Burnaby home base at 6011 Hastings St.

Husband and wife Daniela and Giancarlo Cusano took over the family gelato business in 2017; Daniela grew up in the trade, learning from her father who opened the first shop in 2002. They expanded with a North Vancouver location in July 2023 and now run the Il Cappello Enoteca restaurant and gelato concepts in Burnaby.

The shop built a loyal following for traditional Italian gelato with inventive flavors such as pistachio, Nutella, lemon, and a dedicated affogato bar, plus vegan options like Vegan Dark Chocolate 75%. It describes itself as Vancouver's first grass-fed gelato shop.
