Dr. Lam Stephen

Dr. Lam is a pulmonary medicine doctor and Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia in the Respiratory Division, and he serves as Chair of the Lung Tumour Group at the BC Cancer Agency.

He received the Gustav Killian Medal from the World Association of Bronchology for pioneering contributions to early lung cancer diagnosis, and the Joseph Cullen Award for life-time scientific achievements in lung cancer prevention research, and he directs the MDS-Rix Early Lung Cancer Detection and Translational Research Program at the BC Cancer Agency.

He was the BCCA principal investigator of the Pan-Canadian early lung cancer detection study, and his clinical and research interests include clinical trials of chemopreventive agents to prevent lung cancer.
