Dover Gardens Nursery School

It is a non-profit playschool operating in the Dovercourt Village neighbourhood since 1983. It serves toddlers aged 18 to 30 months and preschoolers aged 2.5 to 5 years, with two qualified Registered Early Childhood Educators on staff.

The program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:45 PM. There are no weekend sessions listed.

Each session includes circle time, free play with crafts, sensory bins, blocks, puzzles and a dramatic play centre, plus tidy-up and a nutritious snack with fruits, vegetables, grains and protein. Physical play happens both in the classroom and in the outdoor playground.

Yes, it is licensed by the Ministry of Education and the City of Toronto. Its license covers two separate programs for toddlers and preschoolers, or a mixed-age family model so children learn from each other.

It follows a cooperative model, so parents can get involved in their children's early education. Interested parents may also take on occasional duty days supporting the teachers in the classroom.
