Cavell Avenue Preschool

Cavell Avenue Preschool is a small play-based preschool at 15 Cavell Avenue in Toronto. It serves children ages 2 to 4 in groups of no more than five at a time.

The program is child-led and play-based, with projects emerging from the children's own interests. A strong focus is placed on emotional literacy and cooperative play.

Children play outdoors every day, rain, snow or shine, with sand and water play, gardening and a mud kitchen. Mid-morning the group shares a healthy snack, and children bring their own lunches.

The preschool is run by Kirsten Treichel, a Registered Early Childhood Educator and artist. She has operated creative child-led programs since 2015.

The registration form states the program is not licensed by the Government of Ontario. It operates as an enrichment program following Ministry of Education guidelines.
