Yes, the Vancouver community centre handles adoptions for cats, dogs and small animals. Adoption hours follow the posted shelter hours, and staff can walk you through the process on arrival.

For animal emergencies outside shelter hours, use the branch emergency line or the Vancouver Police Department after hours. The shelter itself is closed on Thursdays and statutory holidays.

The on-site Vancouver Animal Hospital provides vaccinations, spay and neuter surgeries, dental care and consultations. It operates in the south building with its own weekday hours, separate from the shelter.
