ABC University Daycare

ABC University Daycare Society is a registered charity and nonprofit daycare that has operated in Vancouver since 1967. It cares for children aged 30 months to 5 years of age.

The program is play based and draws on Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Renzulli approaches with an inquiry based emergent curriculum. The class is licensed for 25 children but capped at 22, with four full time educators and one part time educator.

Monthly fees were 1430 dollars per month, and the program opted into the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative, which lowers fees considerably. It is fully licensed and can help families apply for the Affordable Child Care Benefit.

ABC University Daycare is closed on all statutory holidays. It also closes for two weeks at the end of December and two weeks in the summer, usually July, while tuition still applies.

Children bring their own lunches each day, and the program has kept a low sugar policy since 1967 with no chocolate allowed. A substantial morning snack is provided, and families contribute fruit or vegetables each week for afternoon snacks.

Yes, all children must be toilet trained, with the only exception being a diaper or pull up at nap time. Children must also arrive by 9:30 in the morning.
