From September through April, Wednesday Pit Nights are students only, and you need to show both student ID and government ID at the door. From May through August, anyone can come with just government ID, and the student rule never applies to other nights.

Yes, The Pit is available for club and commercial bookings on nights other than Wednesday, and you start with an inquiry form on the AMS site. Most weekends are already taken by clubs and event companies, so book well ahead.

Special event nights can have ticketed entry, like a recent Thursday party with $10 tickets at the door and doors opening at 8 PM. Wednesday Pit Night is famous for long lineups, so the AMS advises getting there early.

It is a loud student nightclub night with DJs, cheap drinks, and hundreds of fellow students packing the dance floor every Wednesday. Expect a high-energy campus crowd rather than a quiet pub evening.
